HBO and James Gunn enlisted our typography expertise in this much anticipated “The Suicide Squad” spin-off — “Peacemaker”. As soon as we watched the quirky dance sequence, we fell in love with the style, the characters and the instantly-stuck-in-your-ear track by Wig Wam. We were immediately ready to dive in and create a typography and main title treatment that complemented the badass aesthetic of the sequence.

Much like the family’s adventure from Stockton California to the Mosquito Coast in Central America the process for building the main titles was a journey. A journey with twists, turns, and unexpected solutions, ultimately landing in a place that just feels right and fits the tone of the show.

A monumental surprise awaited viewers of the Emmy Award-winning Full Frontal with Samantha Bee when the show’s new main title sequence was released. Designed and directed by our illustrious leader, Erin Sarofsky,  the highly stylized 20-second introduction presents Samantha the way the world increasingly sees her: A curious giant in the cultural landscape.

Cram a family of six with one alcoholic father, several teens and a couple of spirited youngsters into ramshackle, Back-of-the-Yards house in Chicago, and it doesn’t take much to figure out there won’t be any privacy. Except, maybe, the bathroom. Throw that door open and who knows what you’ll find?

What does it taste like? How does it smell? How does it make you feel? If you really want to know, just ask a kid. That’s what we did for the adorable spots we created for Haberman’s Zevia Kidz campaign, launching a line of zero-sugar fizzy drinks.
