UI/HUD Motion Design

August 10/11, 2019

What you'll learn:

Every day that passes, screens of every shape and size are more and more prominent in people’s lives. This also translates to film, television and advertising, as these screens become an essential tool in telling a story. Whether the subject is interacting with futuristic holographic displays, simple computer monitors or cell phone screens, these all need to involve designed graphic interfaces.

In this workshop, Sarofsky designers will guide participants through the process of creating these graphics and composite them into a shot. It will also feature a hands-on demo of Red Giant’s Trapcode Suite and Universe, courtesy of Certified Adobe Master Trainer Simon Walker, CSI.

*Special Raffle: Courtesy of our sponsor Red Giant, one lucky attendee of this Lab will win a full Trapcode Suite 15 license (particle simulations and 3D effects for motion graphics and VFX, now with fluid dynamics), as well as a one year license for Universe (video transition and effects plugins,  including HUD components). That’s a $1,200 value!

The UI/HUD workshop is suited for both designers and animators, especially ones with interest in interactive design without the burden of the development stage.

  • Understanding the basics of Interface design
  • Development of on-screen graphics for a particular scenario
  • Animation of the graphics including interaction with the subject
  • Tracking and compositing of graphics into a scene

Software you'll use:

Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects; possibly Maxon Cinema 4D; Red Giant's Trapcode Suite 15 and Universe.

How to attend:
