Experimental Processes

July 20/21, 2019

What you'll learn:

Sometimes it’s just fun to be able to use motion media as a digital sandbox and really get your hands dirty. The results are not always precise or predictable and the beauty and charm of the designs are found in the imperfections. That’s what makes these alternative processes so bad-ass! This workshop is a great exercise for participants to learn to “loosen up” by exploring new mediums within their motion design applications.

This experimental process workshop is open to anyone with an interest in time based media, design, art and experimenting with how it all comes together. It may be a good opportunity for an editor to actually get their hands dirty or for an artist to see what it’s like to experiment with post and editorial.

  • Using experimental processes as a storytelling device
  • Generating practical assets
  • Stop-motion and other cinematography techniques
  • Compositing mixed media assets

Software you'll use:

Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dragon Frame and Premiere
