Sarofsky is currently looking for mid to senior-level rigger to join our team for a 3 month minimum booking January – April. This person should have the ability and passion to create and iterate rigs that satisfy needs of the artistic and technical direction.

They should desire to collaborate with other artists in production in order to articulate realistic characters. They also should have the ability to create intuitive controls to allow animators to interface with the rig.

Here’s a bit more info on what we’re looking for:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a film or broadcast setting
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with strong showreel/portfolio that showcases knowledge
  • Experience with writing tools or automation processes in Mel or Python
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Maya, particularly regarding rigging systems and methods
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other artists as well as take direction
  • Must be able to work in our Chicago studio

Technical Skillset:

  • Broad knowledge of anatomy, structure, and character motion
  • Understanding of how rigging systems integrate with other aspects of production
  • Knowledge of facial rigging systems
  • Ability to deal with layered aspects of a rig such as clothes and other accessories.

Language Ability:

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
  • Ability to take direction well from Creative Directors and leads with a close attention to detail.
