Sarofsky is currently looking for mid- and senior-level 3D Generalists, specifically those proficient in Maya, to work with our ever-expanding team. We’re interested in hearing from freelance artists (local or non-local), as well as individuals looking for full-time employment.

This person is a problem solver and a solution finder and should have a background creating work in the advertising industry as well as the ever changing and demanding entertainment field of both television and features. Past experience in leading a department or a team of artists is a plus.

This person should have expertise in the latest software developments and be prepared to test and monitor that software regularly. He or she must also be very aware of industry trends and new technology and how to incorporate those into our production pipeline. As Sarofsky is a collaborative studio, he or she should have studio experience working side by side with other outside vendors on large projects.

As Sarofsky is known for its expertise and knowledge of design, in addition to the above requirements, this person must have a strong understanding of design… And not just motion design, but all aspects including photography, film and the arts. This includes a broad awareness of culture, lifestyle and news in general. We are looking for a well-rounded person who is passionate about design, has his or her own point of view and personal style, and therefore is a strong Senior CG Artist.

Skills & Experience:
Demonstrative experience and knowledge of advanced 3D modeling, shading and lighting for VFX Shows.
Expert level modeling, shading and lighting.
V-Ray, Arnold or equivalent rendering knowledge.
PFTrack 3D Camera Tracking knowledge.
Familiarity with pipeline development and a studio post-production environment.
Mastery of fundamental compositing principles.
Strong aesthetic sensibility, good use of color.
Confident in the visual exploration of abstract concepts.
Creative and design oriented, excellent communicator, good with teamwork.
Self-motivated problem solver.


Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from two- or four-year college or technical school; four years related experience. Minimum 3-5 years experience working with Maya.

Communications and Media:
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.

Language Ability:
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.

Computers and Electronics:
Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following applications: Maya and the Adobe Creative Suite. Additionally, he or she should be knowledgeable in C4D and Nuke. Ideally, this individual will also have knowledge in any FX-heavy software package (i.e. Houdini & Realflow), Python, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Illustrator. Some basic knowledge with finishing software such as Flame and Smoke would also be beneficial.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
