SXSW News!

So much excitement over on the blog lately...

Today, we're pumped to announce that two (that's right... two!) of our title sequences have been nominated for Excellence in Title Design at the 2017 SXSW Film Festival!

Can you guess which ones? (Hint: see above.) Yup, Animal Kingdom and Dr. Strange!

Abacus Screenings

So... Who hasn't seen the incredible documentary (and therefore, our work on it), Abacus: Small Enough to Jail, yet?! Well, you're in luck. Kartemquin Films has several screenings coming up this spring. Here's the full list... But for those of you in Chicago, mark your calendars for February 23rd.

Abacus at Chicago International Film Festival

This year, Sarofsky worked on the documentary film Abacus: Small Enough to Jail, created by Chicago production company Kartemquin Films. We did the main title and graphics within the film and the movie poster was designed by our very own Duarte Elvas.

Abacus tells the story of the Sung family, owners of Abacus Federal Savings of Chinatown, New York… Also known as the only U.S. bank to face criminal charges stemming from the 2008 financial crisis.

BTS: Terri the Vegan T-Rex

What’s our secret at Sarofsky? Well, for starters, we keep the work enjoyable and fun. But at the same time, when faced with an obstacle, we do not back down. We take a collective deep breath, work the problem, and come up with creative solutions.

So in a particularly nutty brainstorming session for one of Arnold’s most recent CenturyLink spots, the idea emerged of how funny it would be to convince Halley, our resident vegan, that we needed her acting skills to bring Terri the Vegan T-Rex to life.
